Colour Analysis
The purpose of colour analysis is to define the colours which bring out the best of your natural skin, hair and eye colouring so that the colours of the clothes and accessories you choose to wear always work for you, never against you.
Body Analysis and Styling
The purpose of body analysis and styling is to assess your facial and body features so that you can use your clothes to the greatest advantage, highlight your assets, downplay your weaker points and select the clothes which best fit your personality and lifestyle.
Clothing Culture
To my knowledge, no image consultant offers a separate service which I call clothing culture. Image consultants help their clients put together an outfit or even buy it. They sometimes explain the rationale behind their choices, sometimes don't. Helena thinks that the real gentleman dresses consciously and knowledgeably. Not only does he have basic information about the various elements of clothing and accessories. His knowledge is rooted in the appropriate historical, cultural, social and psychological context. He has a well-developed aesthetic and stylistic awareness and refined taste. He likes to, and knows how to, choose and match fabrics and accessories, knows their history, knows who developed and popularised them. He also knows the market and can navigate it with ease. The British Image Consultant will coach clients individually, educate them and encourage their sartorial development. The man who takes this course will be on the best road to deserving to be called a real gentleman.
Wardrobe Planning
The purpose of wardrobe planning is to assess your existing wardrobe, weed out anything which is no longer wearable and plan a successful new wardrobe in which everything fits, everything co-ordinates and you always have something to wear, whatever the occasion.
Looking After the Wardrobe
Even the most carefully chosen and executed wardrobe will not be of much use if you don't take proper care of it. Helena will show you how to organise your wardrobe logically and clearly so that you can find everything you need even with your eyes shut. She will tell you how to take care of your clothes and accessories so that they are always clean, fresh and ready to wear and so that you can enjoy them for as long as possible.
The Travelling Gentleman - What to Pack and How
Gentlemen today travel more and more. Helena will show you how to pack sensibly so that you take everything you need and nothing you don't. She will teach you how to fold your jacket so that it does not crease, where to pack your shoes so that they don't move during transport, how to pack shirts, trousers and sweaters.
Personal Health and Grooming
Even the best dressed man will not look good or make a good impression if his body is not healthy and well-groomed. Helena will share her knowledge and experience on these matters.
Etiquette
Even the most stylish, elegant and well-dressed man will not be a gentleman unless he knows how to behave in every situation. Etiquette is the most difficult lesson of all and also the most important one. It is the crowning glory of all the hard work on developing your own image. In times of hardship and adversity when people lose everything they have, all their external attributes of social status, we see best who is and who isn't a gentleman. THE BRITISH IMAGE CONSULTANT wishes no-one the loss of all his possessions but, just in case, it is worth polishing your manners and taking care of that side of you which distinguishes the gentleman from ordinary mortals.
Personal Shopping
THE BRITISH IMAGE CONSULTANT assumes that when you have finished your clothing culture education under her competent and alert eye you will be ready to go shopping by yourself and will know how to put your outfits together and accessorise them, whatever the occasion. However, Helena will willingly provide you with a "road map" to help you locate the things you need and help you shop and choose, albeit on one condition. These things will be made in Britain. England, Scotland, Wales (and Ireland) are famous for their high quality textiles and woollens. The best tailors in the world still tailor bespoke suits in London's Savile Row and you can have your shirts made to measure in nearby Jermyn Street. And in St James's Street, just 600 metres from Buckingham Palace, Lock & Co. Hatters, the oldest hatters in the world, have been making hats uninterruptedly since 1676. Britain, a country of lovers of horses and outdoor sports is also famous for her exquisite hunting and riding, golf and polo apparel. Not to mention several old and venerable producers of men's toiletries and shaving accessories, toilet waters and colognes, and other indispensable paraphernalia. Image and Styling Breaks
Why not take a few days off and come to a lovely retreat in the heart of the British countryside where you can cool out, do your image analysis and styling at a leisurely pace and listen to some talks about image and style? THE BRITISH IMAGE CONSULTANT will be there to consult and inform.
Psychoeducation
Individual coaching to enhance awareness and acceptance of one's appearance and integrate one's outer image with one's inner self, to increase competence in creating one's image and managing impressions in a conscious, mature, integral, culturally and historically informed way, free of manipulation, and to show how to take advantage of the therapeutic functions of clothing and appearance.
Resolving psychological problems with one's image
Standard image consultation usually suffices to achieve a radical improvement of image and image competence and the inevitable boost in self-esteem. But it is not always so. Problems do crop up at various stages of image work, beginning with initial motivation and formulation of expectations and ending with the lack of enhanced sense of well-being despite obvious improvement of the external image. These problems are rooted in various psychological blocks and barriers. Individual, slightly more in-depth work should help to understand these problems better and solve them.
