Helena Grzegołowska-Klarkowska

Helena Grzegolowska-Klarkowska was born in Scotland. When she was 13 she moved to Poland where she finished high school and enrolled at the Faculty of Psychology, Warsaw University where she graduated in 1972. She worked as a research psychologist at her Alma Mater for the next 20 years. In 1992 she left her academic career (which she resumed in 2008 having accepted a professorship at the Academy of Special Education in Warsaw) to become a freelance scientific translator. She created OSTOJA, a translating business which is still flourishing and has achieved considerable renown and a circle of faithful clients. In 2006, having translated forty books and well over a thousand articles and conference papers, psychological tests and test manuals, the speech of one of the Polish presidents in Taiwan and several psychotherapeutic workshops, she enrolled at Limpert's Academy of Design in Dublin (Diploma Course in Image and Fashion styling) and completed the Foundation Training Course for Image Consultancy at Talking Image in London. She then launched a new service, image consultancy, under the name THE BRITISH IMAGE CONSULTANT. Dr Helena Grzegolowska-Klarkowska, psychologist, translator, image consultant and stylist, now runs OSTOJA-TBIC. Equipped with new knowledge and skills plus her long-standing experience in seeking out British textiles and accessories and exploring British style, she hopes to infect men with her great love of timeless, refined British style and to help them develop their British image - the Gentleman's image.
